To change out the transfer case it's going cost $600 in labor. A bit pricey but I trust this mechanic and it was going to be quite a bit more at Land Rover. I have been disappointed with Land Rover techs. Hi, had same problem with 66 discovery sport. Landrover do a clamp to secure the heat shield at £150 and it took local garage an hour to fix it. Landrover were reluctant to admit they have a clamp and said it was 50/50 whether it would solve the problem. Garage mechanic said it was straight forward to fit.
