AFAIK the game client shouldn't be using much more than 1g of memorymy client (on windows 8 64-bit) only uses up ~1.6g of RAM Since the Mac client is supposed to be pretty different from the PC client, 1gb doesn't seem like an unreasonably small amount of RAM usage.
